The line stretches to the bumper cars — and the terminal is searching for a signal.
A different pitch every week, no store Wi-Fi, no fixed power — and still everyone wants to pay by card. Your terminal needs its own network, a battery that lasts all day, a housing for any weather, and rates that still add up at €4. We compare — free and independent — the providers built for the fairground, not just the shop counter.

What makes the difference in your business
Your own network instead of borrowed Wi-Fi
There’s no store Wi-Fi on the fairground, and the cellular network collapses as soon as ten thousand visitors start streaming at once. Look for terminals with a multi-network SIM that automatically picks the strongest available network — and for a true offline mode that stores payments and submits them later. Clarify in advance up to what amount you may take offline payments and who carries the risk if a card turns out not to be covered.
Hardware that survives a market day
From setup in the morning to the last customer after the fireworks, your terminal isn’t plugged into anything. A battery that lasts the whole day — or a swappable battery you change during a lull — isn’t a comfort question, it’s revenue. Then there’s the pitch itself: rain, frying fat, powdered sugar, dust. A device not built for that fails exactly when the line is longest.
Contracts that know your season
Many terminal contracts run for years without pause — including November through March, when your business stands still. For seasonal operations, flexible rental often pays off: cancelable monthly, with a dormant mode for the winter break or a second device for peak season only. If you pay through the dead months, you’re subsidizing the provider’s business model — not your own.
Small amounts: the cents decide
On a €4 bratwurst, it’s not the advertised percentage that counts but the fixed fee per transaction. A 10-cent fixed component on €4 is already 2.5 percent — on top of the discount rate. Ask specifically for rates with no or a low per-item fee, and calculate with your actual average ticket instead of the sample ticket from the brochure.
Contactless payment usually works without a PIN up to €50. For your stand, that means: practically every sale goes through in passing — no typing, no holdup in the line.
You know your average ticket and your season months — that’s all we need. Tell us both or attach your latest statement, and we’ll line up offers that calculate with your numbers instead of brochure examples.
